Leamington FC Supporter’s Club Charity Race Night?

Following a very successful charity race night at the Queens Head, Cubbington, on the 12th March, Lee Matthews, LFCSC Chairman handed over a £209.50 to Chris Lea (Land Lord of the Queens Head).  The event was in aid of CLAPA, The Cleft Lip & Palate Association, which was attended by locals of the Queens, and regular supporters of Leamington FC.  More information on CLAPA can be found on their website at http://www.clapa.com/

Free draw results.

23/01/10 Ron Ainsworth.

O2/02/10 Peter French.

Both receive 5 free SC scratch cards with the chance of winning up to £100 on each card.

Chairman of LFCSC resigns.

It was with great sadness that last night i had to accept the resignation of chairman of LFCSC Mr. James Barnwell.
James has served the LFCSC very well over the last 10 years and i would just like to put on record my thanks for all he has done, James has had to let go of his role in LFCSC so he can put all his efforts into other projects
he will obviously still be down the club doing his other match day roles, so we haven’t got rid of him yet.
Thanks again James for all you have done for the fans of Leamington FC, it has been a pleasure working with you especially as your vice-chair for the last nearly 2 years.

As voted for last night, I am now acting chairman up to the A.G.M.

Lee Mathews.

Thumbs Up for the Supporters Trust

Brakes supporters held an open meeting last Thursday to gauge support for and vote on forming a Supporters Trust.

Attended by Jacqui Forster of Supporters Direct and Mark Evans from the Merthyr Tydfil Supporters Trust, fans voted overwhelmingly to set up a new body. A steering group will now be formed to kick start the process.

The meeting recognised the contribution of Brakes supporters groups of the past, the Friends of Leamington Football Club (FOLFC) and the current Supporters Club (LFCSC) which have helped build the football club into what it is today. A supporters trust will be a natural progression as the fans’ representative body as the football club moves through the non-league pyramid.

The initial aims of the trust are to ensure a better presence in the local community, meet the needs of all Brakes supporters and to acquire a stakeholding in the football club through buying shares. Supporters trusts are well established around the country and make a significant contribution to football. The best run trusts are not only major assets to the football club, but to activities within the wider local community.

The steering group is seeking people with a variety of skills and anyone interested in joining can make contact through the website at trust@lfcsc.com or by telephoning Pete Davis on 07793 741344.

Meeting to vote on Supporters’ Trust

Thursday 10th December 2009 at the Whitnash Tavern. 8.00pm start.
This meeting is for Supporter’s Club membership to vote on the proposal of converting the existing LFCSC to a Supporter’s Trust. The meeting will be open to all, but only existing LFCSC members will be eligible to vote on any proposals.
The LFCSC committee will endeavor to inform all members using the contact information provided at the time of registration.

After consultation with Supporters Direct, members of the LFCSC committee have met to discuss changes to the format of the planned meeting. The meeting will now start with a brief presentation and discussion of the advantages of forming a Supporters Trust for the Football Club, all supporters and the local community as a whole.

Representatives from the national organisation Supporters Direct and the Merthyr Tydfil Supporter’s Trust will attend the meeting to help present and answer any questions arising.

This will then be followed by an invitation to all present to vote on the formation of a Supporters Trust.

We apologise for any confusion this change of format may cause but we feel that it will be more appropriate at this stage to engage with as wide a range of people as possible. To this end we ask all supporters to come along and to encourage others that may be interested to come along as well.

This meeting is more than just a vote we hope to answer some questions that people may have about Trusts.
We also hope that the meeting will show how peoples’ help, talents and skills can make a Leamington Trust be beneficial to both the football club and the community.
